There are a lot of oral sex simulators out in the market right now, but if you are looking for a great version then look no further than the Lelo Ora. Before trying this I did look at the press release to see what everyone was raving about and I am always skeptical about a sex toy, especially one that is supposed to simulate a tongue going around in my nether regions, but then there is curiosity that makes my thighs water. Oral sex isn’t really in my partner’s sex vocabulary so when a toy comes on the market that boasts about being almost as good as the real thing, I am jumping on that band wagon and getting it as close to me as possible.
The Ora came to me in a nice, discreet box and it was in my favorite color, which is blue. Since it is part of the Insignia line, it has gold plating. Yeah it is nice to look at and it is pretty classy, but I am not a fan of the plating. It seems that it is more trouble than its worth. Once you use lube, the gold plating becomes super slippery and you can lose your grip on the toy. That means that the toy has seams that could get nasty, and that becomes a real pain to clean.
When I took the Ora out, I was actually surprised at how big it was. I mean I expected it to be large, just surprisingly large. The largest round part of the toy is designed to be pressed against your area and is very flat and about 2 inches wide. Inside of this flat area is a small bead that is located under the silicone. This bead moves and simulates the same sensations of a tongue. The weirdest part about this is that instead of the body of the toy sticking out, it is a bit concave, which made me skeptical about if it would touch my clit at all. Before I even placed this anywhere near my genitals, I tested it on my hand. I was again surprised at just how the bead felt. It was great and it was a ticklish feeling that was quite nice. If it could do the same thing to my clit, then I would be on it like white on rice.
I was worried because my hand doesn’t have a labia over it, or a clitoral hood that isn’t easily stimulated. I usually prefer toys that just slip where I need it to be and then go from there, but this was a new experience for me. I ended up having to spread my labia far apart and press the Ora onto my clit as firmly as possible. The thing is you have to have the right amount of pressure in order for it work. If you press too hard, the Ora will stop.
The Ora has 10 different patterns that can be used. I personally love all of them but they are the combinations of the bead rotation and even vibration patterns as well as a setting that doesn’t have vibration to it. I love this toy, but I think it would be better I they added more movement to it.
When it is just the bead moving, it is quite pleasant, it has that smooth, tickle type feeling to it. It isn’t really orgasmic until I add in the vibrations. The trick to this toy is adding to the spot that really works for you. It is a bit loud, but I drown out the noise by using my iPod. Once I am on a vibrating setting, it is like wearing a vibrating tongue ring and placing it on my clit to bring me to an over the top orgasm. After the newness fades on this toy, it does feel like a clitoral vibrator. But, I paid for extra unique sensations, which is what I go. It was beyond what I expected in a sex toy.
The vibrations are quite strong and pretty rumbly for such a small toy, but all in all, I was surprised at just how well the vibrations are transmitted. Just like other Lelo toys, you are able to adjust the strength of the patterns by using the plus or minus buttons and it has an intense setting which is a lot more powerful than normal. You do have to hold the button for at least 3 seconds for it to kick in, but once it does, you will need to gag yourself from screaming out about how awesome the vibration is. Since I am super sensitive, I only used that feature once and I thought that my clit would explode from how intense it was. Certainly made me think twice about whether I should use it again. I did and now it is one of my favorite toys in my sexy box. I keep it right next to my Gigi.
To be honest, I thought the Insignia line was just a stupid gimmick to get people to purchase hundred dollar dildos. I was wrong, they were packaging heaven. The Lelo Ora feels like a tongue putting just the right amount of pressure on my clit to bring me to climax without any issues. Normally a toy would take me 30 minutes or more, but this one only took about 5. I really didn’t expect that.
When it comes down to if this toy would be right for you, it really depends on what you like. It is like getting oral from someone wearing one of those vibrating rings and moving around in various types of patterns that really bring you past the point of no return. The price tag is a bit steep but that is what you will pay for a 24 karat gold plated sex toy. This is certainly one toy that I recommend to ladies who just don’t get that type of love from their men.
